SPRING 2012 EVENTS

Lose It logoFIU LOSE IT

Registration starts: Mon., Jan. 9 (through Sun., Jan. 22)
Program begins: Mon., Jan. 23
Cost: $99 new participants, $90 returning participants

The FIU Lose It Program has already helped the FIU family lose over 2,000 pounds! This 12-week program will give you the motivation and tools you need to drop that unwanted weight. Participants will receive:

  • Group training 3 times a week
  • Beginning and final fitness assessments
  • Metabolic testing - find out how many calories you individually burn on a daily basis (for new participants)
  • Biometrics® meal plan (for new participants)
  • Top three winners will receive special prizes!
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Women must have a Body Mass Index (BMI) of at least 26 to qualify
  • Men must have a BMI of at least 28.

Gain It logonew starFIU GAIN IT

Registration starts: Mon., Jan. 9 (through Sun., Jan. 22)
Program begins: Mon., Jan. 23
Cost: $99

The FIU Gain It Program is a 12-week program designed to help participants gain muscle mass. It will provide you the knowledge about proper lifting techniques and nutrition. Participants will be trained twice a week on either Monday/Thursday or Tuesday/Friday. Each training session will be one hour long and you'll be trained by a certified personal trainer. This program is designed for both beginners and advanced levels. Participants will receive:

  • Group training 2 times a week
  • Beginning and final fitness assessments
  • Metabolic testing - find out how many calories you individually burn on a daily basis

PANTHERFIT INCENTIVES PROGRAM

Registration Begins: Jan. 9
Location: Recreation Center

fitness montageReceive prizes for attending the PantherFIT classes you already love! Earn one point for each PantherFIT class you attend and get a prize when you reach certain levels! When you reach 30 points, you get a water bottle; at 45 points, you get a drawstring bag; and at 60 points, receive a t-shirt.

COMMIT TO FIT

If your New Year's resolution is to lose weight, then this is the perfect event for you. Come and get your body fat checked, your weight taken, and get your specific workout questions answered by a certified personal trainer. NRSFDayNATIONAL RECREATIONAL SPORTS & FITNESS DAY

Cost: FREE

Focus on the positive benefits of fitness, wellness and campus recreation! Get a free body fat analysis! Get your health questions answered by a certified personal trainer! All group fitness classes are also free! Coupons, food and prizes will be disbursed.


Boot CampXFC (X-Treme Fit Challenge)

Cost: $15

Get a taste of Boot Camp in this one-day outdoor fitness challenge! Nationally certified trainers will challenge you with cardio circuits, strength circuits, core training, and team games. Only the fittest will survive! For more information, contact Janette Janero at (305) 348-6519 or via email.
