Rules for General
Recreation Facility Use |

- Currently
enrolled FIU Students and Recreation (REC) Members must
present an ACTIVATED FIU PANTHER ID CARD for access.
- DAY MEMBER: An FIU faculty/staff non-REC Member, FIU Alumni non-REC Member, or FIU Student without ID may purchase a one-day non-refundable DAY PASS for $10. An FIU Panther ID Card (or Panther ID# for FIU students) is required. Day Passes are not available to the general public nor to non-FIU affiliated individuals.
- GUEST
PASS: An FIU Student or Recreation Member
may sponsor up to 2 guests (non-FIU affiliated individuals) per visit. There is
a non-refundable GUEST FEE of $10 per person
per visit, and both the Sponsor and Guest(s) must
complete
and
sign
the
Guest Waiver. GUEST BEHAVIOR
IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE SPONSOR.
- EXERCISE
AT YOUR OWN RISK. FIU and Recreation Services
are not responsible for injuries sustained by individuals
participating
in recreational activities or programs. All participants
are advised to have proper medical coverage and accident
insurance before participating. Please report injuries
to
the facility's Service Desk for documentation and assistance.
- Appropriate
workout/sports attire and athletic footwear is required in all activity areas. No jeans, crocs or open-toed shoes. Shirts must be worn at all times in all indoor recreation venues.
- No one under
the age of 18 is permitted to use Recreation
Services facilities (exception: Tennis Center and Panther
Hall Pool).
Photo ID with proof of age is required
- Due to regular crowding of high use areas (first floor free weight zone, second floor cardio area, and the basketball courts), skateboards will be prohibited from all activity areas. Skateboards must be either stored in the locker room (at owner's risk) or locked to the skateboard rack outside the front doors of the Rec Center (accommodates both regular and long-boards; you provide your own lock).
- Lost & Found: Lost articles should be reported to the Rec Center Pro Shop or Membership window. Found articles should be delivered to these same areas. Valuables found are delivered to the Public Safety Office after 24 hours.
- Individuals
whose personal actions infringe upon the well-being
of other
users can be denied access.
- USE OF
RECREATION SERVICES FACILITIES IS A PRIVILEGE. Recreation
Services staff have the authority to deny entrance
or disallow further
participation due to violation of these policies or any
other behavior deemed unacceptable. All recreation
participants are required to adhere to the Rules of
Conduct as outlined
in the University's Student and Employee Handbooks.
