Current FIU OneCard/Photo IDs are required to use all recreation facilities. If you do not have a current photo ID, you can get a new one at the FIU OneCard ID Office (Blue Garage) - call them at (305) 348-3910 for hours and cost.

Not sure if you want to commit to a full semester to start off? Try our 2-week Trial Membership for only $15. If you decide to go with a full membership when that runs out, we'll credit you that $15 toward the full membership.

Recreation Services asked Stella Herauf, a REC member who works at the Wertheim Performing Arts Center for her thoughts about the Rec Center:

RS: Stella, what do you enjoy most about the Rec Center?
RJ: The atmosphere is friendly, courteous and helpful; although, I go after work, there are always machines available and a variety of aerobics/cardio classes.
RS: How do you think FIU employees can benefit by staying healthy?
RJ : Every day we hear through the media and doctors encouraging everyone to exercise; avoiding many illnesses, such as obesity, heart problems, and in many instances, types of cancers caused by the "21st century illness", STRESS. We all could definitely benefit from our beautiful facilities. The time we all spent in traffic, we could spend it exercising and getting healthier; once we are done, we could get to our destination faster..
RS: When the Rec Center expands, what types of services, programs or pieces of equipment would you like to see?
RJ :I personally would like to see more spinning and step/aerobics classes around the 5:15/5:30pm schedule.

Faculty Group Practice for Primary Health Care Now Open

FIU's College of Medicine Faculty Group Practice has opened its new facility in PG5-Market Station. Physicians from the COM are available to provide primary care, preventative care and care services, along with the management of chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes. A wide variety of Services are offered and insurance plans accepted. Hours are M/Th 8am-8pm and T/W/F 81m-5pm. For more information, call (305) 348-3627 or click on this link.
